Hi, I’m a current student at NYU’s Masters of Science in Integrated Marketing. Today I want to take you through a quick student’s perspective of the program. This is ideal for those thinking about going back to school — grad school style with an emphasis in marketing! And my apologies this isn’t a high tech video — I know I’m marketing professional — but working full time with classes part time while in finals mode — well this is what I can offer for now. First, let’s take a look at the program. The main difference of this program and a MBA is that all of these grad level classes focus on marketing. It focuses marketing as a key element of business to support a company’s overall growth. Since business strategy, growth and innovation is so well integrated into all of these classes — students consider this degree to be the fast track to CMO! But a quick disclaimer that I’m not promising this and neither is NYU. A look at the curriculum — everyone is required to take a list of core courses including Finance, campaign management, strategic planning, digital marketing and management. Now some of you might have some or none of this experience already but this is a great start to the program and important for our careers. After your core courses you get to pick from a variety of classes that are categorized into 3 concentrations: brand management, digital marketing or marketing analytics.
