Student Loan Scam — from Rocky Mtn Homelessness

If you’re thinking that taking out loans will help you to get an education, you may be right. But what you’ll learn may also surprise you. Many college graduates are learning that the reality of the “American Dream” is actually a nightmare. Unless you want to ruin yourself financially, DON’T DO IT!–DON’T TAKE OUT LOANS IN ORDER TO GET A COLLEGE DEGREE! Seriously, there is no guarantee that you’ll get a job, much less a high paying job, upon graduation. There is also (and few people are talking about this) a tremendous amount of discrimination that college grads have no control over. Women, for example, typically are hired for dead-end clerical jobs that prevent them from ever gaining positions of power within most companies. Students who come from poor or working class families typically don’t have the “connections” that are so important for obtaining the really good jobs. Minority students of color face the “dead end job” dilemma that economically oppresses women. And some employers conduct credit checks on potential employees, leaving some college grads with student loan debt unemployable! Knowing all this, graduating from college can leave you with tremendous debt that can not be eliminated by bankruptcy. Even if you find yourself homeless, you will still be required to pay off those loans. Sallie Mae, contrary to popular opinion, is a for profit company. Lenders can sell your loans, add interest and fees onto the balance and make huge profits if you are unable to pay

GO TO TRIAL!!! Prove that the loan company gave you a fraudulent loan!! The loan company never had money in a vault to loan? you…The company just typed a number into a computer. The loan is null & void.

@GoldmannSucks Yes, I’d leave the country in a heartbeat, as I think the US is going down like the Roman Empire, but it’s not so easy. One needs a Visa, money in the bank, etc. But that is a good point. Most developed countries do provide university-level education for free. That’s why so many countries are ahead of the US in education? and progress these days.

@dinche1 They offer you the chance to request a hearing but they can deny your request. They wrote me back and told me they denied my hearing because it wasn’t necessary. They made a decision on their own–without a hearing! It’s unconstitutional, of course, but? that’s what they did.

    I’m almost 50,000 dollars deep and I’m only a junior. D-:?

I never went to college, I took a job as early as possible and worked when most people would be in school. I saved as much money as possible during that time and invested in the stock market after the crash. I now own a home and don’t work.
Had I decided to go to? school. I would have nearly $100,000 dollars in debt be paying $1,100 a month for the next 30 years and bringing home less than minimum wage after debt payment.
It disgusts me that getting an education is a poor life decision.

Kids , do you really want? to be a pediactric psychiatrist? Lawyer? Doctor?
Or are you trying to please your parents?
Also, most people get jobs with loan forgiveness, the peace core is great.

Education is FREE in many many countries as different as Germany, all of the State Universities are free, they are called Fachhochschule, in Venezuela education is completely free from primary to doctor degrees. Purrgirl, I dont know? where you are now, and my heart bleeds at watching your video. Really, leave the US and go to Venezuela or Germany. Your life in the US will turn hell. Get into an NGO to go to Latinamerica and that way you can get started.Never pay back your debt, never return to US

While I was studying at Harvard I met countless people from the Harvard Business School. They were about to graduate and they were sending applications for an internship. 30 years ago, the Board of Directors of the largest US companies were waiting at the gates of the HBS for students to come out and offer them an entry level job of 100.000 dollars. Today, the students step on each other? to get an unpaid internship. That is capitalism. My advice. Go to Venezuela. Never return to the US.

  15. Dailybabble says:

Just don’t be stupid to take out? more than you cannot pay back in a year I owe my school $1,775 :D

  16. HearingLossProvider says:

I’m sorry for your predicament. I’m in a somewhat similar? boat, though my debt is quite a bit less. Still I’m feeling the crunch. Plus, I have people breathing down my neck to go back to school and finish my degree. I refuse to. Thank you for posting this, and I sincerely hope things begin to look up for you. Keep your chin up!

  17. swirlcrop says:

    This is so? true.

  19. XervixZhangsun says:

really just move out of the US and dont pay? them a dime

  20. TheChromelover says:

PurrGrrl, I feel sorry for you and perfectly understand your predicament. Have you ever considered getting a job outside of the US? I’ve lived in a few East Asian and South-east Asian countries like South Korea, Phillipines etc and there is? a good demand for quality English teachers. I presume English is your major. Of course, the currency value there is less and so it will still take many years to pay off the loans but the job security is good. U’ll have to sacrifice a bit on standard of living

  21. Quixotepr says:

I like your ironic feeling, you are cute also. But u are telling the sad truth. No degree can guarantee inmeditate employment after graduation and the student loans are pushed to students desperate for an education not knowing the consequences of their acts. SL? does not have the protection of other loans meaning that the lender can do whatever they want with them since you can file bankruptcy. That is endless power to the lender. Suicides for this reason are many, I hope not to become one.

  22. mustangsthree says:

ouch you get burned in the states. in canada the loan is written off after 13 years. there is also loan forgiveness programs, and I am sure they cannot touch your social security checks since they cannot be garnisheed for? any reason.

  23. ZetaWatcher says:

ONLY IF YOU CONSENT!! You get a letter like that and write on it. “Offer Denied”. In BIG RED LETTERS and then sign it with the word “Without Prejudice – All Rights Reserved”. This way you do not accept their jurisdiction or authority? over you and they will have to sue you in open court. IF you fill it out and send it in, you are CONTRACTING with them and the contract carries the full force of law. They are asking your permission to screw you. Fill it out… Bend over.

  24. PauletteS1972 says:

Your video is great! I always say that The Department of Education is one of the biggest scam? artists out there!!!!

  25. yemonja100 says:

Omigod, omigod, even being homeless…….what a fraud, what a fraud.? What if we (all those who are not wanting to become medical doctors, lawyers, nurses, surgeons or teachers……..I mean come on, do you think half the population can afford the pre-education it takes to become a medical doctor just for one to validate college for all) stopped going to college? I loved my major but did not need an institution to know any of it.
